Notes by Patrick:
I wanted a sparse song, and this is just that. Might be the sparsest song I’ve ever been part of. The piano is the same one that we used for Misfortune on our last album. I recorded it months before we decided to use the song, just to have it in my back pocket if we wanted to use it. Ted remained patiently alert; while he sat and listened to me do several takes. The story begins at Easter when I was a teenager, and ended two years ago.
